About

My name is Niamh O' Dwyer and I am a stylist from Ireland.

My work stems from having owned Buandiva a bespoke vintage clothes boutique, based in the beautiful Tuscan city of Pistoia, Italy. I curated my collection with an eye to garments that outlive the moment of their creation; past styles that can make what philosopher Walter Benjamin described as a ‘tiger’s leap’ into the present.

Buandiva, although no longer a boutique, made a stylist of me and I draw upon the great cultural traditions of Ireland and Italy, as well as the intellectual fields of philosophy and aesthetics, to create fashion.

Here are three photos which best expresses the direction I want to take. The dramatic content of this photograph might appear to overshadow the actual clothes. Featured is a 1940's hand made satin wedding dress.  By creating dramatic atmosphere, in a contrasting fashion strangely, details of the dress are more explicit.

The photographer I work with is Jacopo Ferri from Pistoia, Toscana. https://www.jacopoferri.com/

Buan means eternal or everlasting in Irish.

I live between Ireland and Italy.
